Divot exists because golf pricing is scattered, stale and sometimes just wrong. Here is exactly how our data works, so you can judge it for yourself.
Every green fee on this site comes from one of two places: the course's own booking system, read directly, or the course's own website. We never copy prices from other directories, and we never estimate.
Every rate carries the date we last checked it, and you'll see that date on the page. Fresh data is the whole point. If a price hasn't been checked recently, the date tells you that too.
If we can't verify something, we leave it blank and say so. You'll see "being verified" on parts of some course profiles. That's deliberate. A blank cell is honest. A guessed one isn't.
Every price on Divot sits in one of three named tiers, and the tier tells you how it was checked:
Bookable courses are read from their booking systems every day around 11am. Published rate cards are re-checked on a rolling basis, and immediately whenever a golfer or a club flags a change. Every figure carries its check date, so you never have to take freshness on faith.
Honesty cuts both ways, so here are the limits. Clubs can change a price at the counter without telling anyone, so a dated price is a strong signal, not a guarantee. Competition days and course closures don't always show up in booking systems. Concession rules differ club to club, so always check what counts. And a few clubs only publish fees inside their booking engine, in which case we show what a golfer actually pays there rather than a rack rate.
When a golfer tells us a price is off, we check it at the source, fix it, and log the correction. Those corrections also teach our checks to catch the same mistake earlier next time.
